Seeking Graduate Purchasing Officer

South East Melbourne locationPermanent Role ideally suited to a Supply Chain graduate or with 1-2 years’ purchasing experience in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environment

Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 + Super + BonusKey Responsibilities

Procurement and sourcing of a dedicated buying portfolio in a cost effective, timely and professional mannerPurchase materials from approved suppliers to support the production plan, agreed stock targets and according to exact specifications (considering price, quality, service and compliance)

Plan and purchase using SAPMonitor and report on supplier performance

Liaise with Quality Control department and suppliers to ensure quality, service, delivery and continuity of supply as well as participate in audits as requiredPurchase to support production as needed and maintain appropriate stock levels

Work in compliance with a GMP environmentMaintain Master Data, purchasing information records, source lists for raw materials, non-printed packaging and consumables

Act as back-up for packaging specialist as necessaryEnsure all relevant SOP’s, Policies and Procedures are always adhered to

Communication in a cross functional working environment to achieve plans, goals and outcomesKey Requirements

Ideally you will possess:

Tertiary Qualification in Supply Chain, Business or a Related FieldExperience in sourcing & purchasing packaging for the pharmaceutical, skincare, personal care, food, FMCG or related industry (1-2+ years’ experience working with local and international suppliers is highly regarded)

Knowledge of procurement principlesSAP experience or knowledge of a similar ERP system (preferably)

Strong administration and organisational abilityExcellent negotiation, communication, problem solving ability, sense of urgency and high attention to detail

A natural relationship builder with a passion and competence for purchasing and achieving results for the companyMust possess:

Valid and unrestricted Australian Driver’s LicenceFull work rights in Australia
