Our client is an expanding manufacturing business operating in the food and pharmaceutical industry, and we're looking for a proactive, energetic, people-focused Safety, People & Site Coordinator to become the go-to person of the Melbourne site.
This is not your typical WHS role.
This is a rare opportunity to combine workplace safety, people & culture, facilities management, training coordination, and operational support in one highly visible and rewarding position.
You'll work closely with the Site Manager and be supported by the People & Culture team, playing a key role in shaping the employee experience while ensuring the site runs safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
What You'll Be DoingChampion Safety
You'll be the driving force behind a strong safety culture by:
Leading WHS initiatives, inspections, risk assessments and incident management
Coordinating return-to-work programs and injury management
Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety awareness programs
Supporting audits, compliance activities and emergency preparedness
Ensuring people go home safe every day
Support People & CultureYou'll help create a workplace where people feel welcomed, supported and engaged by:
Coordinating onboarding, inductions and compliance requirements
Supporting recruitment and employee administration processes
Maintaining HR records, training matrices and employee documentation
Assisting with wellbeing, engagement and culture initiatives
Being a trusted first point of contact for employee support
Keep The Site Running SmoothlyYou'll take ownership of site coordination and facilities by:
Managing contractors, maintenance providers and essential services
Coordinating waste, cleaning, pest control, utilities and site upkeep
Maintaining shared spaces and workplace amenities
Managing site consumables and operational supplies
Helping ensure the site remains professional, compliant and well-presented
Drive Training & Operational ExcellenceYou'll support continuous improvement across the business through:
Coordinating GMP, safety and compliance training
Maintaining training records and documentation systems
Supporting SOPs, work instructions and quality documentation
Assisting production, warehouse, engineering, quality and supply chain teams
Contributing to ongoing improvement initiatives across the site
About YouYou'll thrive in this role if you:
- Hold a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
- Have experience in WHS coordination within manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical or similar environments
- Enjoy balancing safety, people and operational responsibilities
- Are highly organised and able to juggle multiple priorities
- Build strong relationships and communicate confidently at all levels
- Take initiative and love solving problems before they become problems
- Bring a practical, hands-on approach and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
