Senior Mechanical Design Engineer | Based in Shenzhen, China

Our client is a world-renowned manufacturer located in Shenzhen, China. They collaborate with international household brands such as Electrolux, Cuisinart and Swissmar to produce high quality products including kitchen appliances, hair & beauty appliances and vacuum cleaners that are currently selling in major retail chains!

The role:

As part of the growing development of our client we are seeking skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to help lead the design and development of home appliances and implement innovative mechanical design solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with internal and external teams to develop design, build and execute projects
• Contribute to the overall design, analysis, documentation and functional validation of mechanical components and assemblies
• Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet production requirement
• Lead and mentor manufacturing associates
• Participate in design reviews to improve product manufacturability
• Participate in mechanical engineering evaluation and test robustness validation
• Define goals, content and schedule of product development
• Give technical advice and instructions and support actively on the supplier side when critical parts have to be sourced
• Preparing technical engineering documents as part of overall project engineering deliverables
• Proactively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies and promote a safe work environment and conceptualize ways of adding value to customers

Requirements:

• Proficient language skills in English and Mandarin desired
• Tertiary Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Extensive experience in Mechanical Engineering with experience in an engineering design environment
• Proven experience in the development of products with electronics and moving parts from inception to production
• Involvement in developing a combination of high volume components/products and mid-complex product assemblies
• A strong knowledge of injection moulding and plastics
• Experience with compliance certification and regulation protocols
• Ability to use Pro/e, Creo CAD and analysis tools to create mechanical design
